Single Moms Need Time and Money

Regarding work and life most people fit into one of these four categories:

(1) No time, and no money.

If you are an employee, chances are this describes the way you feel. You can't go shopping on a Tuesday afternoon or tell your boss to take a hike. How will you even be able to afford to send your kids to college, save for retirement or even think of having a life today with no time and no money?

(2) No time, lots of money.

Credit Cards for Single Moms are a Good Thing

I was talking to a friend of mine recently, a single mom. She was in the process of buying her first home. She was able to make the payments and had a down payment all set, but she had not enough credit history to secure the mortgage.

She told me that the mortgage guy said she should apply for two credit cards. Wow! Silly me. I thought everyone, except the credit card addicted, had a credit card or two.

Three Ways Single Mothers Can Make Money

Today we are discussing three different ways to make money. The first is trading time for money. This includes employees and self-employed people usually; work an hour, get paid for an hour. The problem with this is, if you are salaried, you'll get to work extra hours for free.

The next way to make money is by using your creative ideas and talents.

Behaviors and Situations of the Employee

Most people want to have a career of some kind to make money, however, the ways people go about it can be different. The way most of us are familiar with is being an employee. The employee operates on the expectation of income then performs to achieve that expectation.

People who work for a paycheck, bonus or profit sharing plans, perks etc.
Let's say I've had it with the day job. My debt is beyond belief. I have no time to spend with my kids or family. I've read the Rich Dad Poor Dad book and decided that I no longer want to trade time for money but I have no idea on how to get started in my own home based business or how to become an entrepreneur. What do I do?

Well there are successful businesses available to people who want to build wealth that are already set up , running and making huge profits.

The Single Mother Business Person

The business person is considered a doer first. The business person does then if all goes well, reaps rewards from her efforts. Just about any single mother has what it takes to be a business person. Look at all the work they take on outside of the day job. But what else does it take to be a single mother business person?

To be a successful business person you must reprogram your thinking.
The entrepreneur is considered a performer first. The entrepreneur performs then if all goes well, reaps rewards from their efforts. What does it take to be an entrepreneur?

To be a successful entrepreneur you must reprogram your thinking. You will no longer be trading your time for money as an employee does. We would not think of an entrepreneur as a mechanic who quits the dealership to start his own repair shop, then works twelve hour days, six days a week.
As a single mom you are required to go above and beyond the call of the job duty. Raising kids requires significant chunks of time too. What about time for yourself? With the imagination and skills many single moms possess, they should consider creating their own business so they can have more earning power and time flexibility.

Most of us were taught to have a career or job of some kind in order to make money.
An education is an important thing for anybody. Without a college education, even a high school education, there are very few jobs out there that will offer you the financial stability needed for your future. An education for single moms is especially important because not only do you have to fend for yourself financially, but you also have one or maybe more children to take care of.
