We all remember Elle's pink laptop in Legally Blonde - who didn't wish for one! But back in that dark age of black, grey or white laptops only (2001), you would have to get your notebook customized if you wanted it pink. Not anymore! Most computer companies have realized that their customers are looking for style and color in addition to functionality when choosing a laptop and have started adding more and more color and design options for the notebooks.

I've been doing a lot of research on pink electronics lately, and as I was reading about one pink gadget after another, I started thinking about the color pink and what it means to people. Why do we dress girls in pink and boys in blue? When did that start? Why do girls and women like pink? So I put my pink electronics research on hold temporarily and started looking into the color pink instead.

The South Pacific is truly the stuff dreams are made of. It is what we all wish for when we're sitting in our fluorescent-lit offices on a dull, grey March day, looking out on the piles of dirty snow on the sidewalk, longing to be somewhere else. Palm-fringed beaches with soft white sand, azure, incredibly clear water, tranquil aquamarine lagoons with fish in amazing colors, volcanic islands with flower-scented breezes and overwater bungalows - simply paradise on earth.

Having never taken much interest in Hello Kitty (being over 40 and not a parent of young daughters, although details like that don't seem to stop die-hard Hello Kitty fans), I was astounded when I discovered the abundance of products available with the cheery Kitty's face on them.

"Born" in Japan in 1974 to proud parent Sanrio, Hello Kitty is a worldwide phenomenon embraced by girls and women of all ages.

The French island of Corsica, 110 miles south of the Riviera and just north of Sardinia is an exceptional choice for a luxury yacht charter vacation. With a mountainous, dramatic landscape featuring rivers, gorges, waterfalls, lush valleys, rocky cliffs,

Gone are the days when your office was a drab color palate of grays and blacks. These days, you can make it as cheerful as you want with electronics in every color. Today, I'm going to share my findings on some pink peripherals for your office (or on the go).

Desktop Computers
Considering the increasing amount of colorful laptops available, I was surprised to find that the pickings for desktop computers in various colors are slim to say the least.

So you got that nice, shiny pink laptop and it really is quite spectacular. But what about the rest of your electronics? Don't they look a bit dull in comparison? No worries, you can soon be surrounded by colorful gadgets! Having said that, I have to add that I have not yet found a pink printer or scanner. There was a Barbie printer on the market a few years back, but it seems to have disappeared.

It's difficult to find areas not overly developed for tourists these days. As soon as one is discovered, the world finds out about it and before long, it has lost its charm.

Fortunately, there are still a few places that are untouched by mass tourism, where you have a chance to experience local life to the fullest. The Lakshadweep islands, off the Malabar Coast in Kerala, India, is one of those places.

Gotland, the largest island in the Baltic, lies almost equidistant from the Swedish east coast and the Baltic state of Latvia. This beautiful island, surprisingly unknown to foreigners, is a favorite vacation destination among Swedes. First-time Swedish visitors often comment that it feels like being abroad, perhaps somewhere in the Mediterranean. Having grown up on Gotland, I am perhaps biased, but from the medieval, walled-in cobble-stoned city of Visby to the stark, windblown, sheep-studded landscape of Faro, Gotland truly is a spectacular and fascinating place.

The Baltic might not be the first place that comes to mind when considering a luxury yacht charter vacation, but during the short Scandinavian summer, it's a magical place with warm breezes and almost 24 hours of daylight. Even as far south as Stockholm, summer nights never get completely dark, the sky just takes on a deep blue tint for a few hours before the sun comes back up again.
