Are you telling me that my body talks? You may very well ask: "What the heck does he mean when he tells me listen to what my body is saying"? What Listening To Your Body Will Do For You
Are you telling me that my body talks? You may very well ask: "What the heck does he mean when he tells me listen to what my body is saying"? My mouth is pretty much the only part of my body that talks, so what am I listening to? Very often we are so busy living life that we don't notice the subtle messages are bodies are trying to send us.

Our bodies are constantly sending us signals or messages. It lets us know if it is too hot, or too cold, if it is in pain, if it is in stress, if it is starting to get sick and so on. The issue is whether we listen to the messages or not. The reality for most of us is that we do not listen to the message until it is far too late. Can you relate to this?

Sometimes the body whispers to you that you are not getting enough rest. The body needs rest to rejuvenate, so it sends us a message letting us know we need rest. This message is different for everyone. It could be a sniffle, it could be a feeling of fatigue, or it could be sore muscles.

The question is what do we do about it? Many people pop a couple of pills and keep on doing what they were doing. But the body still needs rest. So the next signal is a little stronger. The sniffle is now a cough, then it becomes a cold and if it is still not dealt with it turns into the flu or double pneumonia. Eventually the body takes the tap on the shoulder and makes it a 2 by 4 across the head, and we get so sick we are either in the hospital or we are in bed for some days or weeks.

Our bodies know better what we need than our minds do. Our minds often ignore reality and try to do the convenient or seemingly urgent instead of what is really important. And as a result the whole being suffers.

The question really is this - do you want to be healthy or not? I did not ask if you wanted to be successful, or if you wanted to get that promotion. The question is do you want to be healthy?

If you abuse your body and ignore the messages it sends you, be prepared to pay the price. The cost will be different for each individual. You can either pay now or pay later, but the bill does come due. This is why so many wise people tell us that our health is the most important thing we have.
